There's some great addons for Race/Evo and they have one of the best open wheel driving models i've seen since GPL. This has turned out to be a great commercial decision and the Race series has provided valuable income for Simbin through the difficult times. If you're a sim novice or looking for a good entry point then Race/Evo strikes that balance perfectly. The Race/Evo series came from a different development team and Simbin rounded off a few of the corners and dumbed down the tyre model slightly which made things a little more accessable for the mass market. Outside of running SCES here I have no desire to join a regular racing league.īut did GTRevo improve GTR2 ? I had some very happy times on GTR2 until I installed Evo, and now i just stay with Evo. Online racing is of course an option, if there is a community for open public racing.because that's really how I fill most of my time with racing sims.
Gtr evolution gtr2 mod install#
So what should I do with this? Is GTR2 the type of game where I should just install it and then start racing? Or are there some "must have" tracks and mods that I should focus on? I got it free, actually.as part of a bundle with Race07. As I mentioned before, I own it.but I never put much time into it. I've heard it said here that GTR2 is also great for racing offline. I'm probably going to be reinstalling NR2003 sometime this week and getting it up to date. So, I'm looking at sims that will offer a decent offline experience as well as the potential for more online action. Even on my 'regular' servers lately you're lucky to see 15 drivers in a race, and due to everyday life I can't always hop online until late at night when everything has REALLY died down. There are so many mods, so many tracks, that the community is splintered. Unfortunately, online racing with rFactor can only go so far. The more time I spend in rFactor lately, the more my interest in sim-racing has been returning. Somewhere in my desk I have a copy of GTR2 that I've never done much with.
